What is “You Are Not Your Hair”?

"You Are Not Your Hair" is a charity event that took place on August 16th, 2014 in Los Angeles where women and men volunteered to shave their heads. At this event there will be hairdressers to shave women’s heads and artists from Henna Heals to decorate their newly bald scalps with beautiful artistry through henna designs. We raised over $2,000 for The Representation Project and donated the hair to the Children With Hair Loss charity!

Event Mission/Intention:

To provide women with the opportunity to access their inner beauty and illuminate their true worth and radiance with or without hair. To provide people (men & women) the opportunity to experience that real beauty comes from within and accept their own beauty just the way they are.

What Happened At The Event?

At this event hairdressers to shaved 9 participants heads and henna artists decorated their newly bald scalps with artistry through beautiful henna crowns. These artists were also made available to guests, particularly those who have lost their hair due to medical conditions. The event was a celebration of self - love, acceptance & empowerment with fun, music, food, drinks, freebies, henna artists & most importantly head shavings!
